Henry’s year in AAA Hockey

7 Oct

Last year’s hockey season was a busy one with travel across the US and even up to Quebec for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament.

It was a trying experience in net, however, with a tough regular season schedule against two top clubs, the LA Jr Kings and the Anaheim Jr Ducks. The regular season itself was only 6 games, with more time spent traveling to tournaments, but those 6 games were busy for the Jr Sharks Pee-Wee AAA’s only net minder, who faced almost half of the shots — 217 of 462 — taken in the entire season by all teams combined!

Onward and upward: Henry’s skating out this season with the Jr Sharks as a first year Bantam A, and is looking forward to a fun NorCal travel hockey season.

Not sure how I missed this, but Isabel had a great article about her in the high school paper last year.  Oh well.  As Ferris Bueller says, “Life moves pretty fast…

The Harding Name

12 Sep

Not sure how much weight to give these Naming sites, like the HouseofNames.com… love the fact that the Hardings go back to 1600’s Boston, that there was a Buster Harding who was a Jazz musician, and of course that we have a former US President named Harding (who’s no longer the worst… we’re #39!)  Troubled that almost all the ‘Historic events for the Harding Family’ involved ship sinkings, including the Titanic.  Probably just as well that I no longer own a boat.

Isabel update – healing and back to school

22 Aug

Menlowe-Ballet-nutcracker-dancers_lead-1Isabel Harding is back to school, and thinking big thoughts of dance and life beyond Paly.

She’s still convalescing, but is close to returning to the studio to get back into top ballet form.  She’s also broadening her artistic interests with more voice and theatre involvement, and related extracurricular activities.

Here’s a link to an article about her and her team from last season, celebrating her longevity in local ballet, as well as the impressive commitment in terms of training and rehearsals made by these dancers.

Henry’s stats from last season

22 Aug

Henry-jumbotronHenry Harding had a great season with the Jr. Sharks last year when he skated out, and tied as Point leader, with 24 points coming from 13 goals and 11 assists. He averaged almost 2 pts per game, through the course of the team’s 8-3-3 season, which resulted in a trip to the NorCal finals.

This season Henry is in goal with the Jr. Sharks 12U AAA team, which kicks off with the Tinseltown Tournament  Labor day weekend.

Link to his 2017 stats are on the NorCal website
